    About Us

Phakamani For Social Welfare (PSW) was established on 01 October 2015 in Old Crossroads, Western Cape. The organisation was formed to safeguard children, support families, and empower youth, women, and vulnerable groups within the community. PSW addresses social challenges through preventative initiatives, early intervention, and supportive services that uphold dignity, safety, and long-term community wellbeing. On 07 August 2017, the organisation was officially registered in accordance with the Nonprofit Organisations Act, 1997, strengthening its capacity to extend services throughout the Western Cape.

    Our Mission

At Phakamani For Social Welfare, we exist to protect children, uplift families, and strengthen communities throughout the Western Cape. Our goal is to provide safe and supportive spaces where parents and children can grow together through education, counseling, and social programmes. With compassion and resilience at the heart of our work, we aim to restore dignity, inspire hope, and build stronger foundations for generations to come.

    Programmes and Services

    Parents Workshops

Parent support workshops are facilitated to provide parents and caregivers with practical guidance and skills to enhance their parenting capacity. These workshops promote healthy family relationships, effective communication, and positive discipline practices.

    Information Sessions

PSW conducts information and awareness sessions in schools and communities on key social issues, including bullying, teenage pregnancy, school-based crime, and substance abuse. These sessions aim to educate, inform, and empower participants to make positive and informed life choices.

    Life Skills Programme

Empowering futures starts here. Phakamani’s Life Skills Programme equips young people and families with the tools to thrive, creating safe, supportive spaces where dignity and hope flourish. Together, we can build lasting change.

    Holiday Programme

The holiday programme brings children together in a supportive and engaging setting during school holidays. Learners participate in structured educational sessions, creative activities, sports, and life-skills development, encouraging positive interaction and personal growth.
